Data Protection Lead

Remote or Hybrid

£360 to £500 per day

18 month contract

This newly created Data Privacy position requires a Data Protection Subject Matter Expert, who is keen to help further develop and implement a risk-based action plans. This agrichemical company would like you to help achieve further compliance across all functions of the business including human resources, finance operations, health & safety, digital marketing, mobile apps and manufacturing operations. The position will also have responsibility to help embed and maintain post-implementation activities for OneTrust.

This 18-month contract will see you support and project manage each site (8 in the UK) and help identify, map and assess their business processes, carry out data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and draft privacy notices. Own and coordinate implementation of controls and mitigation measures for identified risks.

Key skills required include:

  • Significant experience in all aspects of managing data protection compliance (gained in a legal capacity, data capacity or other)
  • Desirable would be Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of data protection laws (UK GDPR, EU GDPR, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)).
  • Experience of using One Trust (desirable)
  • Practical experience of vendor risk assessments, business process mapping, risk management (including reviewing contractual clauses, data processing agreements and privacy notices)
  • Analytical thinker with sound business acumen and ability to converse with a wide variety of stakeholders within diverse business areas and offer practical solutions which are targeted to the actual risks.
  • Ability to translate complex legal principles into pragmatic advice, whilst striking a reasonable balance between privacy constraints and business requirements.

This business is based in Bracknell, so if Hybrid working is preferred you would need to be able to commute to Bracknell.
