Job description

We are working with a global leader in the Aviation industry who are seeking an interim Finance Analyst to focus on their Fixed Assets division for a contractual period. You must have fixed assets experience from a large company (blue-chip/FTSE), paying between £400-500 per day.

Based in London, this is a great opportunity for a Finance Analyst to support the client through a challenging yet exciting period of transformation. This role is inside IR35 and is hybrid working.

  1. Position overview

The Financial Control team ensures the integrity of the accounting records and promotes a culture of robust financial controls.

With c. £12bn of fixed assets on the balance sheet, the role will support financial control across all capital projects and support analysis and management of the fixed asset register.

The role will require working closely with other areas of the business including the Development team and with relevant external parties including Auditors. i.e. specifics relating to functional responsibility, business partnering, business processes.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Accounting & Reporting - Month end accounting requirements, ensuring that Oracle projects data is maintained and controlled to accurately reflect project spend. Roles and responsibilities will be diverse and allocated between three analysts. The three analysts will cover the following responsibilities;
    1. Analysis of additions and retirements/disposals
    2. Supporting the calculation of manual depreciation
    3. Supporting capitalisation of projects "in use" from AICC
    4. Ensuring capital accruals are up to date and appropriate
    5. Calculating and allocating direct costs ('Leadership & Logistics costs') across capital projects (c.£100 p.a.)
    6. Management of the Development function P&L. (c.£25m p.a)
  2. Process improvements - Supporting and developing process improvements
  3. Preparing reports for the leadership team - Preparation of reports for the Fixed Asset Steering group as required.
  4. Stakeholder Management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the business including project leads, development team, BSC (shared service centre) and with relevant external parties including Auditors.

The role would suit a candidate with the following experience:

  • Part / Qualified Accountant with experience in preparing management accounts
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to digest large amount of data and present in a succinct way
  • Experienced in using excel (advanced level), Word, PowerPoint, Oracle ERP
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels, with experience in partnering finance and non-finance teams
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively on team projects
  • Experienced in Fixed Assets/Depreciation/Project Accounting of capital expenditure within a large organisation
  • Experience in the aviation industry would be an advantage
