Job description

A SME consulting client of ours providing Climate Change policy and strategic advice to corporates and asset owners are working exclusively with us in helping us find a person to take on this broad role of Finance Manager. The person will report to the company's Managing Partners. You will be expected to work on a hybrid basis.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day company accounts.
  • Assist with financial planning and analysis.
  • Oversee Budget forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Ensure government compliance in all tasks.
  • Coordinating bookkeeping and outside accountants in the UK and overseas - (Two current bookkeepers will report into this person)
  • Working closely with Advisory Partners to ensure pipeline revenue is robust and correctly accounted for.
  • Reviewing monthly burn / utilisation and appraising the Management Committee of any opportunities for improvement.
  • Overseeing client costing models, reviewing fee proposals, and offering pitch support.
  • Group cashflow reporting.
  • Overseeing the month end process across all Group entities.
  • Creating the monthly management information pack with commentary.
  • Delivering the draft annual budget and quarterly forecast.
  • Managing the annual Group and subsidiaries audit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency with current financial software
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.

Essential

  • Previous experience in a commercially focused role with a professional services firm (consulting, advertising, etc.).
  • Have worked in a similar stand-alone role and can work autonomously.
  • Technically astute across a range of topics including tax and accounting compliance, financing, and corporate structuring.
  • You are super organised, methodical, and always seeking new and innovative ways to solve problems.
  • Thrive in a high-paced, small, and growing environment.
  • Happy operating remotely, taking ownership and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Care passionately about Climate change and want to work with a mission.
