We are working with one of our clients on a fantastic role - we're seeking a fully qualified financial accountant looking for their first step into industry from practice or someone already working in the commercial sector looking for progression.

The client are in the Financial Services sector with offices all over the world. This role will have a fairly strong crossover with the French office, so if you speak fluent French this would be a huge benefit, but it's not a deal breaker. Having placed most of the finance team over recent years, we've got a very strong relationship with the business and particularly in finance there, working top down on most of the permanent hires. The culture of the business is very open and transparent, where honesty and integrity is a key focus for the company.

To be successful in the role you will need strong people management skills and the ability to prioritise work in a fun and challenging environment. You must be able to apply strong attention to detail in the adherence to professional and company standards while working co-operatively with other members of the finance team, the wider business and external parties; so strong effective communication skills are necessary. A flexible attitude to work routines is essential to accommodate the requirements of a growing business.

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for key elements of the monthly, quarterly and year end statutory, regulatory and management reporting across UK and overseas (France, Germany, USA and Australia) entities
• Responsibility for monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Manage a small team, ensuring the sales to receipt and purchase to payment processes operate smoothly
• Ownership of operating cost and income recording processes
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency
• Ad-hoc duties as required to support Finance Operations

Experience and Qualifications

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• UK and international reporting experience including statutory and regulatory accounts and VAT returns
• Ability to speak French is highly desirable
• Knowledge of sales and purchase ledger processes
• Working knowledge of VAT regulations for international service delivery
• Excellent computing skills including Outlook, Excel and cloud-based accounting systems. Xero and SAP ByDesign experience are desirable

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Self-starter proactive work ethic with a willingness to provide support where required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, spoken German or French would be an advantage
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of a growing business
