Job description

Our client who is a global Wealth and Asset Manager, is looking for a Global Accounting Policy & Technical Accounting at Vice President level based in the United States.

You will be expected to be in the office 60% of the time.

This individual will have a role on the Company's Global Finance Team and focus on Accounting Policy and Technical Accounting. This is a highly visible role with the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the design and buildout of the Accounting Policy function as well as enhance the reporting function. This role will collaborate closely with the Global Controller and Chief Financial Officer.

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations, assess their impact on the company's financial reporting, and propose necessary adjustments to accounting policies.
  • Conduct technical accounting research to address complex accounting issues and provide guidance to finance and business teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and external auditors, to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
  • Participate in the implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring proper documentation and communication of changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform financial statement analysis and review disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and other external reporting requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and guidance on accounting matters.
  • Stay up to date with emerging accounting trends and changes in US GAAP, proactively identifying potential impacts on the organization.

Requirements needed for this position:

  • CPA certification or equivalent along with 6-8 years of total experience with a focus on progressive experience in accounting policy or technical accounting roles, preferably in a US GAAP reporting company or public accounting firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and strong understanding of financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with researching and interpreting complex accounting issues and applying accounting standards effectively.
