Opportunity for a Graduate Accountant in London at fast-growing Business Consulting firm.

The Opportunity

An integral part of the whole Operations team, the Graduate Accountant will help with daily, weekly and month-end financial administration, mainly but not limited to Account Payable, in a close-knit Finance team of 3. The company will also support your development and study towards professional qualification.

What you will do

The Graduate Accountant will be responsible for:

• Accurately code purchase invoices and employee expenses
• Assist and provide cover to the management accountant in client billing, journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist management accountant and financial controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
• Prepare financial analyses for use in periodic budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Ensure finance documentation and filing is complete and meets compliance and year- end reporting requirements
• Identify automation opportunities for transaction processing and financial reporting
• Support corporate initiatives to streamline/upgrade systems, processes and reporting
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required

Experience

• A sound understanding of bookkeeping
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, ideally in professional services for part-qualified or if studying towards professional qualification.
• Excellent clerical, administration and data-entry skills
• Experience in accounting for VAT
• Knowledge of Xero is an advantage
