Job description

Our client an international payments Financial Services aligned fintech SME business, that provides payment products and services to clients in the UK and Internationally is looking for a Head of Cost Control to be based in their London office (Hybrid working schedule applies).

The Head of Cost Control is responsible for all cost related activities of financial control and has responsibilities for meeting reporting requirements for the various business lines and locations across the Group.

Key responsibilities would include:

  • Managing a variety of stakeholders across the business including Front Office, Finance, Operations, and IT
  • Developing a first-class financial control function encompassing all aspects of controllership including reporting, controls, and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Legal entity reporting for a rapidly growing International Group, including the strong understanding of international accounting standards
  • Managing a timely monthly close and accurate cut off and capture of all material expenses across the Group
  • Preparing and managing various monthly management and financial reporting requirements
  • Supporting project work affecting the business including business development, regulatory change, and finance transformation
  • Development and management of the accounting staff - both direct reports and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

The successful candidate will also become heavily involved in project work to automate current procedures, improve the control environment, and will work with several senior people across the Payments and Banking Services divisions of the Group.

Key accountabilities in summary include:

Stakeholder management, Month end close, Management Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Financial control, Project work and Analysis, Team management and other duties.

Knowledge and Experience required if you are applying for this role:

Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA or equivalent with 10 years or more post qualified experience. Strong technical experience of international multi-currency consolidations under IFRS. Experience of working within financial services and regulated entities- with in a Cost control function. Experience of international groups or working in an international role would be ideal.
