Job description

The proposed role would be responsible for supporting the documentation, implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework and the online Risk Management System that serves as the primary repository for risk-related information. The role would play an important part in ensuring and demonstrating effective risk management.

More fundamentally, the role will help to facilitate greater maturity across components of the Risk Management Framework and strengthen key activities within that framework (for example, the risk register, risk management policies, internal control design and review, risk review improvement actions etc.). The role will therefore contribute to better alignment of our existing approaches with client and regulatory expectations as well as recognised best practice risk management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management Framework (i.e. risk-related policies, processes and procedures)
    • Support the maintenance, continuous improvement and further development of the Risk Management Framework.
    • Help to actively promote the Risk Management Policy and internal approach to risk management.
    • Provide support to ongoing risk identification, assessment and reporting initiatives.
    • Make recommendations to reduce risk or improve existing controls.
    • Support risk management reporting and further develop ongoing monitoring and exception reporting (e.g. key risk indicators).
    • Contribute to activities and initiatives designed to raise awareness about risk, increase engagement in risk management and to foster a good risk culture across the firm.
    • Monitor compliance with and new developments in risk-related regulatory requirements (e.g. the Solicitors Regulation Authority).
  • Risk Management System (Omnitrack)
    • Become the lead administrator and point of contact for the Omnitrack system.
    • Improve the level of detail and accuracy of all risk and control information.
    • Leverage the system's capabilities (risk register, control register and risk review improvement action tracking) to strengthen the Risk Management Framework.
    • Ensure risk data is maintained, managed, reviewed and responded to effectively by stakeholders (e.g. owners of risks, control and actions).
  • Internal Risk Reviews
    • Support the planning, undertaking and reporting of findings and recommendations from office, core process, thematic and project risk reviews
