The Opportunity

We're partnering with a leading UK insurer undergoing significant growth and transformation. This is a high-impact role at the heart of the business, where you'll help shape financial risk strategy and support key commercial decisions.

As Financial Risk Manager, you'll work closely with actuarial, underwriting, and finance teams, with a particular focus on pricing and underwriting risk-critical to business performance and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and challenge pricing and underwriting models and strategies
• Partner with actuarial and underwriting teams on assumptions and methodologies
• Monitor risks against appetite and identify emerging issues
• Assess pricing adequacy, risk selection, and claims practices
• Support reserving oversight and wider financial risk management
• Develop dashboards, KRIs, and senior-level reporting
• Provide input into new products, pricing changes, and strategic initiatives

About You

• Experience in financial risk, actuarial, or modelling within insurance/financial services
• Strong understanding of pricing and underwriting risk
• Knowledge of risk frameworks, reserving, and capital management
• Hands-on modelling experience
• Confident engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
